Florida All Retriever Rescue (FARR) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit dog rescue organization in the Tampa Bay area. Our mission is to rescue and rehome dogs from FL, AL, and GA, specializing in large and giant breeds like Labradors to Great Pyrenees. All our dogs are fostered in our homes, allowing us to provide adopters with insights into the dogs' needs, behaviors, and what makes them happy.
Please reach us at adoptfromfarr@yahoo.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Rescue unwanted dogs and find them wonderful, loving homes.
FARR was founded in 2004 by individuals who saw the need to help large and giant breed dogs that were being left behind in shelters. With a focus on retrievers, our group was created and has remained a nonprofit, all-volunteer, all-foster home rescue group in the Tampa Bay area. Our rule of thumb though from the start is if a foster is willing to take a dog in, and it has been tested to be friendly, that we will take it into FARR to be adopted out. So you may occasionally find a smaller breed in our group, but the majority of our dogs are (or will be in they're puppies) 50lbs and up.
FARR is fully funded by our adoption fees and donations.
The first step is to always fill out an application online. If you have already and you see a dog on our site that you'd like to adopt, please send us an email at adoptfromfarr@yahoo.com. Once your app is in and approved, we will forward it directly to the foster home of the dog you are interested in, or to multiple foster homes that would be a match if you have not specified a dog.
No we do not. Our policies are based on the individual needs of the dog and the adopter.
Absolutely! ALL dogs being adopted from FARR MUST be spayed or neutered. There are no exceptions to this rule and we will NOT make an exception for giant breeds to wait till they are full grown. With 25 years of rescue under our leadership, it has been proven time and time again that spay/neutering before 6 months does NOT stunt growth or cause cancers.
If you'd like to volunteer, please fill out the application and indicate on their what you are looking to help with. Our biggest need is ALWAYS foster homes. We cannot rescue a dog if we do not have a foster home to put him/her in.
All adoption fees are due in full at time of adoption agreement. The fee can be paid in cash, by check, via venmo or paypal.
We do not have a physical shelter. Dogs are fostered around the Tampa Bay area in our homes.
We are an all-volunteer organization with our own families and jobs, so please be patient.
